Nutrition Class

Wheew! Craziness here and completely forgot to add to my blog. Over spring break, Scott and I went to SMMH (Saint Mary Mercy Hospital) for my walk-in tests and my nutrition class. My walk-in tests were all done with-in an hour and everyone was so nice!

My nutrition class was from 4-7 and really informative. Especially the book that contains all the info on what I can eat and what supplements to take. I AM SO EXCITED! I know that I will be nervous when it is time for the surgery - but I am ready!

Next is my scope on the 29th and then I just have to wait for my 8 day diet before my surgery. That I'm not looking forward to - but at least Scott is going to do it with me!

one month 2 weeks 3 days until V-Day!!!!

Psych Eval - CHECK!

Yesterday was my Psych eval. It went FANTASTIC. Kelly Johnson was my psychologist and she was great! She told me she thought I would do GREAT with my WLS and that I "was a riot". Well Thank you very much! Next are my walk-in tests and nutrition class Tuesday April 19th. Very excited for that day. It's a sort of date-day with Stu. SOOOO happy and thankful he is going with me to all of the rest of my tests!

OH! and so far day 3 of Adipex is fine. It does make me sweat a bit in the morning. It does curb my appetite thru the afternoon - but by dinner I am ready to eat again and quite hungry. Just an update.

NEW PCP

I love my new PCP Dr. Zakaria! She was great. She did give me a script for Adipex - and I am willing to give it a try. However, it will not deter me from VSG surgery. But I do love her and know I will get great follow up care after my VSG.

While I was on my new favorite website: VerticalSleeveTalk.com I came across a great post from someone who wanted some "comebacks" to have ready when this women encountered the "haters" out there who always had an opinion and typically a negative one. Here are some of the ideas she got back:

I didn't decide to do this instantly----it's been a couple of years in the works

I know it's what is best for ME.

I'm working with a great group of doctors and nutritionists and have lots of counseling on the matter.

I'm not getting younger.

I want off of BP medicine.

This is simply a helpful TOOL and the rest will be up to me.

I'm fortunate to have a wonderful team helping me at this weightloss center.

They wouldn't all apply to me....but I LIKE IT!!!!

Upcoming dates and appointments

Monday March 21st going for my "Are you crazy?" appointment

Tuesday April 19th my nutrition class (Stu is going with me:) and also planning to do my walk-in appointments that day as well

Friday May 27th my endoscopy (not looking forward to that)

Monday June 20th - VSG day!!!

Feeling very excited and a bit sad at times. The sadness is due to the "food funerals" I have been having. :) Just things that I know I won't be able to eat/drink right away after surgery. Overall, VERY excited!!!

Surgeon visit switch and progress

I had a question for the MBI about my PCP, and Angie (from MBI) asked when my appointment was and I told her that it was on the 29th. She said they had an opening this Friday the 11th at 8:30 am. SO I switched and I'm really excited!

My paperwork packet is all complete. I also got a copy of my medical records today. That part was easy. Now I am waiting on the letter from Dr. Scott my PCP on his support of my WLS. The VERY helpful nurse told me to call back Friday and see if the letter is done.

Moving one step closer to my new healthier life!!!
